Oakland A's relief pitcher Sean Doolittle has been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list, the team announced on Friday.

Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Sean Doolittle has been reinstated from the disabled list, the team announced on Friday.
Doolittle was placed on the DL on Aug. 24 with a strained right intercostal muscle. The 27-year-old had posted a 2.28 ERA with 80 strikeouts in 55.1 innings this season, while converting on 20 of 23 save opportunities.

The A's, who open a three-game series at Seattle on Friday, currently hold the top spot in the American League Wild Card and are in second place in the AL West.
