Report: Braves OF Jason Heyward's thumb X-rays come back negative

Braves right fielder Jason Heyward exited with an apparent thumb injury in the eighth inning of Wednesday's win over the Nationals.
Bowman added that X-rays on his thumb were negative.
The 25-year-old was pinch-hit for in the eighth inning in a two-run game the Braves ended up winning. He had made an early exit in a game in July due to lower back soreness but it's not immediately clear the extent of the thumb injury on Wednesday and whether it will cause him to miss time.
Good chance that Heyward's thumb started to swell over the past few innings.

X-rays on Heyward's left thumb were negative. But he knows that thumb ailments can prove to be a lingering problem. #Braves
