Padres All-Star Tyson Ross done for season
Padres pitcher Tyson Ross will sit the remainder of the season, the team tweeted Monday citing information manager Buddy Black relayed to the media.
Dennis Lin of The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that Ross, 27, has a slight strain of the flexor muscle in his right forearm. Lin said that while it's not a big concern for San Diego, the recovery time is expected to be longer than the week the team has remaining in the season.

San Diego's final game of the season is Sept. 28 on the road against the Giants. The news effectively ends Ross' season with a 13-14 record and a 2.81 ERA. Black said in the report that had the season been a week longer, there would've been a chance Ross would be back for a final start.
Ross reflected on the year that was and the year that's to come in Lin's report
"It’s been a great year for me -- a lot of career highs. Pretty much across the board, it’s been a big step in the right direction for me. I’m looking forward to coming back next year, being an even better pitcher. … I’m excited about the future."
In Ross' place, 24-year-old Joe Wieland will get a rare start on the mound in San Diego's final home game against the Rockies on Wednesday.
The Padres were third in the NL West heading into their series against Colorado on Monday night.
