The Angels have clinched home-field advantage throughout the MLB playoffs after the Orioles (95-65) lost to the Blue Jays on Friday.

Los Angeles, which was 98-61 entering Friday's game in Seattle, clinched the best record in the American League, which will have home-field in the World Series based on its All-Star Game win.

MLB playoff scenarios: Who's in and who's out?

The Angels, who haven't made the playoffs since 2009, have played in only one World Series in their 54-year history — beating the Giants in seven games in 2002. They also have a chance to finish with 100 wins for the second time in franchise history (100-62 in 2008).

Los Angeles will play host to the wild-card game winner on Oct. 2 in Game 1 of the ALDS.
