The Nationals are currently down 1-0 to the Giants in the NLDS. They're playing Game 2 on Saturday night in Washington D.C. and the series shifts to a Game 3 in San Francisco on Monday. It's not immediately clear which game, if any, Desmond would miss when his child is born.
The 29-year-old, an All-Star in 2012, finished 2014 with 24 home runs, 24 steals and 91 RBI.
