Report: Royals-Orioles ALCS ticket prices highest in last five years
The average secondary market ticket price for the ALCS between the Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals, $587, is the highest of any League Championship Series over the last five years, according to a report from Bloomberg Businessweek based on data from the ticket website TiqIQ's database.
The average price for a ticket at the Royals' stadium, Kauffman Stadium, is $673. This marks Kansas City's first playoff birth since 1985. The average ticket price at the Orioles' Stadium, Camden Yards, is $509. Baltimore last reached the playoffs in 2012.
On TiqIQ, the cheapest ticket available for Game 3 in Kansas City as of Tuesday afternoon is $215, including a $33 service fee.
Game 1 is Friday in Baltimore.
“It’s pretty impressive for these teams,” said Chris Matcovich, vice president of data at TiqIQ. “When you’re talking about clubs that play in these smaller markets, prices are sometimes hit or miss.”
