Early odds: Dodgers, Nationals co-favorites to win 2015 World Series
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals are early co-favorites to win the 2015 World Series, according to betting odds released by Bovada Thursday.
Both the Dodgers and Nationals are listed as having 15/2 odds to win the title. The Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels are next, with 10/1 odds.
The San Francisco Giants, who won the 2014 World Series on Wednesday, have 12/1 odds to repeat their title. No team has won in back-to-back years since the New York Yankees won three seasons in a row from 1998 to 2000, but San Francisco has won the title in three of the last five years.
• CORCORAN: Where do Giants rank historically?
The St. Louis Cardinals, who lost to the Giants in the NLCS, also have 12/1 odds to win it all next season, while the AL champion Kansas City Royals have 16/1 odds.
The Seattle Mariners have the highest odds (18/1) out of teams who did not make the 2014 playoffs.
Other notables include the Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles, who all have 22/1 odds, and the Chicago Cubs, who have 33/1 odds and who have reportedly agreed to hire Joe Maddon as their new manager.
• Orioles to be aggressive in retaining free agents
The Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins are all least likely to win the title with 100/1 odds.
