Report: Yankees in talks to re-sign 3B Chase Headley
The New York Yankees are currently in talks with third baseman Chase Headley about a return to the team in 2015, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
The Yankees acquired Headley from the San Diego Padres on July 22 in exchange for infielder Yangervis Solarte and minor league pitcher Rafael De Paula.
During his half season with the Yankees this past season, Headley hit 13 home runs with 49 RBI and a batting average of .243.
Headley's breakout season was in 2012 with the Padres, when he led the National League with 115 RBI.

After serving a 211-game suspension for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal, Alex Rodriguez is eligible to return to the Yankees next season. He's expected to play more as a DH, as well as maybe see some time at first base if he can make the transition.
The Yankees reportedly may also try to make a move for third baseman Pablo Sandoval, who the World Champion San Francisco Giants are expected to let hit free agency.
