The Yankees have agreed to a one-year deal with outfielder Chris Young, according to a report from Sweeny Murti of WFAN.

The deal was confirmed by Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, who added that the contract does not include a team or player option for a second season. ESPN's Buster Olney reports the contract is worth $2.5 million, plus incentives. 

Young played in 23 games for the Yankees last season after being designated for assignment by the Mets. Young batted .282 with a .521 slugging percentage with the Yankees after batting .205 with a .346 slugging percentage in 83 games for the Mets. He signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Aug. 27 and played four games in Triple-A before making his Yankee debut on Sept. 2.

Young finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting in 2007 as a member of the Diamondbacks. He played seven seasons for Arizona and was an All-Star in 2010. After playing for the Athletics in 2013, Young signed a one-year, $7.5 million contract with the Mets in 2014. 

Although he has played primarily as a center fielder, Young has experience playing all three outfield positions.
