The Chicago Cubs are reportedly signing veteran free agent catcher David Ross.
The Chicago Cubs are signing free agent catcher David Ross to a two-year, $5 million deal, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
Ross played 50 games for the Boston Red Sox in 2014, hitting .184 with seven home runs and 15 RBI.
The 37-year-old is a former seventh-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1998 and has also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves.

The catcher is coming off a two-year, $6.2 million deal with Boston.
An earlier report, since withdrawn, stated Ross was signing with the Padres.
