The Houston Astros traded outfielder Dexter Fowler to the Chicago Cubs for infielder Luis Valbuena and pitcher Dan Straily, the Astros announced Monday.
Fowler spent only one season with the Astros, hitting .276 with eight home runs, 35 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 116 games. He spent his first five seasons with the Colorado Rockies before being traded to Houston in the 2013 offseason.

Valbuena has the ability to play second and third base, spending 21 games at second and 124 at third last season for the Cubs. He hit 16 home runs and drove in 51 runs, while hitting .249.
Straily started eight games last season for Chicago, going 1-3 with a 6.75 ERA in 52 innings pitched.
