Dodgers acquire White Sox minor league pitcher Eric Surkamp
The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired Chicago White Sox pitcher Eric Surkamp in exchange for pitcher Blake Smith, Yahoo reported and both teams later confirmed.
In 35 relief appearances with the White Sox during the 2014 season, Surkamp went 2–0 with a 4.81 ERA. The lefthander has fared better in 2015, going 25 2/3 innings, posting a 2.81 ERA and logging a 3–0 record.
Surkamp was signed by Chicago after being designated for assignment in December 2013 by the San Francisco Giants. He had spent six seasons in the Giants organization. He will report to Triple A Oklahoma City, according to True Blue LA.

Smith has played for the Dodgers' Double A affiliate, the Tulsa Drillers, during the 2015 season logging an 0–3 record, a 1.62 ERA and three saves.
He was drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2009 draft out of the University of California. In seven seasons of professional baseball, Smith has never played past the Double A level.
