Chicago White Sox outfielder Trayce Thompson hit his first major-league home run on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angeles.

Thompson is the younger brother of Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson. The White Sox called him up from Triple A on Aug. 3.

Thompson's homer came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he lifted a solo shot to centerfield off Hector Santiago to give Chicago a 3–0 lead. His teammates then gave the rookie the “silent treatment” upon his return to the dugout.

Thompson, 24, was a second-round draft pick in 2009. Over seven minor-league seasons, he batted .241 with 101 home runs, 395 RBIs and a .747 OPS.

Klay Thompson acknowledged his brother's first career home run on Twitter.
