ESPN analyst Curt Schilling has apologized for an offensive tweet he sent Tuesday morning comparing Muslims and Nazi-era Germans.

Schilling deleted the tweet and began replying to individual users, acknowledging he made a mistake. Several hours later, Schilling posted an apology.

“I understand and accept my suspension. 100% my fault,” Schilling wrote. “Bad choices have bad consequences and this was a bad decision in every way on my part.”

ESPN announced earlier Tuesday that Schilling has been pulled from his position as a commentator for the Little League World Series.

In a statement, ESPN called the former MLB pitcher’s comments “completely unacceptable.” He has been removed from this week’s Little League coverage “pending further consideration.”
