Salem Red Sox honor Virginia journalists killed Wednesday

The Salem Red Sox will honor the two journalists killed during a live news broadcast in Virginia on Wednesday, the team announced.
Reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, were killed early Tuesday morning while filming a live segment for WDBJ in Southwestern Virginia.
The shooting occurred in Moneta, Va., about 30 miles from where the Salem Red Sox play.
The suspected shooter was Vester Lee Flanagan II, who worked at the station under the name Bryce Williams. Flanagan shot himself after being confronted by law enforcement and died later at a hospital.
The team honored Parker and Ward by painting their station’s number on the field with a blue ribbon.
