Astros activate OF George Springer from DL, call up RHP Michael Feliz
The Houston Astros activated outfielder George Springer from the 15-day disabled list, the team announced Friday. Springer was placed on the DL on July 2 after fracturing his right wrist in a game against the Kansas City Royals.
The 25-year-old played in five rehab games for Corpus Christi, going 5-for-18 with a stolen base. Before his injury, Springer hit .231 with 20 home runs and 51 RBIs in 78 games for Houston.
The Astros also called up righthander Michael Feliz from Double A Corpus Christi on Friday. Feliz, 22, made his Major League debut on May 31, throwing a scoreless frame while allowing a hit and striking out one. He is 6–3 this season in Double A with a 2.17 ERA in 78.2 innings.
