Yankees starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi will miss two weeks with elbow inflammation.
New York Yankees starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi will miss two weeks with right elbow inflammation, the team announced Monday. Eovaldi, 27, was evaluated by team physicians and underwent an MRI on Monday, revealing the inflammation.
This season, Eovaldi is 14–3 with a 4.20 ERA in 27 starts and has a 3.43 ERA over his last 14 turns. The righthander underwent Tommy John surgery as a high schooler back in 2007.
Eovaldi was scheduled to start Friday against the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium. New York currently trails Toronto by a half game for first place in the American League East.
