Video: Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz hits home run No. 500
David Ortiz hit his 500th career home run Saturday.
Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is the newest member of the 500 home run club.
Ortiz became the 27th player in MLB history to reach the milestone with a fourth inning blast off of Tampa Bay Rays starter Matt Moore on Saturday. Ortiz hit No. 499 in the first inning.
Ortiz also became the fourth player to hit homer No. 500 with the Red Sox, joining legends Ted Williams, Jimmie Foxx and Manny Ramirez.
Ortiz, 39, has showed no signs of slowing down this season. He's hitting .273 with 34 home runs and 95 RBIs in 130 games.
