St. Louis Cardinals activate OF Matt Holliday from disabled list
The St. Louis Cardinals have activated outfielder Matt Holliday from the disabled list, the team announced Tuesday.
Holliday was placed on the 15-day DL in late July with a strained right quad. He has missed the Cardinals' last 41 games.
Holliday previously spent time on the DL with a quad injury from June 9 to July 16. He returned to play in 11 games before re-injuring himself. In 63 games, Holliday is batting .290 with four home runs and 31 RBIs.
The Cardinals also announced first baseman Matt Adams would start Tuesday against the Brewers. Adams was activated from the 60-day DL last week.
