Los Angeles Angels closer Huston Street left Saturday’s game against the Mariners with a groin injury and is likely to miss the remainder of the regular season, manager Mike Scioscia told reporters.

The Angels were already without setup man Joe Smith for the rest of the season due to an ankle injury, and will now use a committee to pitch the ninth inning, Scioscia said.

Street was injured in the ninth inning Saturday when he ran to cover third base and had to be helped off the field.

The Angels won the game on a walk-off home run by David Freese and now trail the Astros by just half a game for the final American League Wild Card spot with eight games to play.
