Yankees vs. Astros: AL wild-card game time, live stream, TV info
The New York Yankees will host the Houston Astros for the AL wild-card game on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.
The Astros (86–76) are making their first postseason appearance since 2005, while the Yankees (87–75) haven’t been to the playoffs since 2012.
New York will send Masahiro Tanaka (12–7, 3.51 ERA) to the mound after the righthander missed his second-to-last turn in the rotation with a hamstring injury. Tanaka last faced the Astros on June 27 at Minute Maid Park when he took a no-decision, allowing six hits and seven runs while pitching through five innings.
Houston will look for a strong start from American League Cy Young contender Dallas Keuchel. The lefty earned his 20th win in his last outing on Saturday against Arizona, as he allowed two runs off of six hits. Keuchel, who will enter Tuesday’s game with only three days of rest, faced New York last on Aug. 25, when he pitched through seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits.
In head-to-head matchups this season, the Astros won four of seven games against the Yankees, two of which were at Yankee Stadium.
