Cubs SS Addison Russell (hamstring) leaves NLDS Game 3
Cubs shortstop Addison Russell left Game 3 of the NLDS with a hamstring injury after hitting a triple in the fourth inning.
Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russellleft Game 3 of the NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals due to tightness in his left hamstring.
Russell’s two-out triple in the fourth inning resulted in the hamstring injury. His hit came immediately following a solo home run by Starlin Castro, which knotted the game at two.
Russell was replaced by Javier Baez, who came in to pinch run for the injured rookie, and later replaced him at shortstop.
Entering Monday’s game in Chicago, the five-game series between the Cubs and Cardinals was tied at one game apiece.
