Watch: Rangers take lead on controversial call in ALDS Game 5

The Rangers took the lead in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Blue Jays after a bizarre and controversial call.
In the top of the seventh inning, Toronto catcher Russell Martin attempted to throw the ball back to his pitcher but it struck Shin-Soo Choo’s bat and bounced toward third base. Rougned Odor was able to score from third, giving Texas a one-run lead.
The play was originally called dead after the ball struck Choo’s bat but Texas was granted the run after a meeting of the umpires. The play was also reviewed by MLB’s replay offices in New York.
After the controversial call, the Rogers Centre fans began throwing objects on the field.

MLB later clarified the rule for such a situation.
If batter is standing in box and he or his bat is struck by catcher’s throw to pitcher ... the ball is in play. http://t.co/96910KjkJ2
