Reports: Baltimore Orioles nearing trade for Mariners’ Mark Trumbo
The Seattle Mariners are nearing a trade that will send first baseman/outfielder Mark Trumbo to the Baltimore Orioles for catcher Steve Clevenger, according to multiplereports.
The Orioles are still attempting to acquire another player from the Mariners in the deal, according to Bob Dutton of The News Tribune.
Trumbo, who was traded from Arizona to Seattle during the 2015 season, hit .262 with 23 home runs and 64 RBIs in a total of 142 games last year. He began his six-year career with the Angels, making the All-Star team in 2012, before he was shipped to the Diamondbacks in 2014.
Clevenger was a seventh-round pick of the Cubs in 2006, and made his MLB debut in 2011. He was acquired by the Orioles along with starting pitcher Scott Feldman in exchange for pitchers Jake Arrieta and Pedro Strop two seasons later.
