Royals sign RHP Joakim Soria to three-year deal
The deal has a mutual option for the 2019 season.
The Kansas City Royals have signed right-handed pitcher Joakim Soria to a three-year deal with a mutual option for the 2019 season, the team announced Thursday.
The deal is reportedly worth $25 million.
Soria, 31, spent the first five seasons of his career with the Royals before going on to play for the Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Soria was a top closer for the Royals, but after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2012, the team did not exercise its option on him.
