The San Francisco Giants have agreed to terms with free agent outfielder Denard Span on a three-year contract, the team announced Thursday.
The deal is not quite finished, as Span still has to complete a physical.
According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, Span’s contract is worth $31 million.
The 31-year-old struggled with injuries in 2015, played in only 61 games for the Washington Nationals before undergoing season-ending hip surgery in August. He hit .301 with five home runs and 22 RBIs last season.
Over his eight-season major league career, Span has hit .287 and tallied 55 triples. He led the American League and National league in triples in 2009 and 2013, respectively.
