Report: Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish cleared in MLB investigation
Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish has been cleared of any connection to the alleged illegal gambling activities of his brother, Sho, after a MLB investigation, reports Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News.
Darvish’s brother was arrested and charged with running an illegal gambling ring by Osaka authorities in October. The year-long investigation uncovered evidence that Sho had taken and placed bets on Major League and Nippon Professional Baseball games.
Darvish was never suspected of wrongdoing by Japanese authorities.

After the MLB launched its investigation, Darvish released a statement through his agents maintaining his innocence.
"While I understand that Major League Baseball must conduct an investigation, I am certain that they will find that I had no involvement in this matter whatsoever," Darvish said.
The MLB investigation was standard practice for any player that possibly has a link to gambling.
