Report: Orioles sign Pedro Alvarez to one-year deal
The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly signed Pedro Alvarez.
The Baltimore Orioles have signed first baseman Pedro Alvarez, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune’s Dennis Lin.
The deal is for one year, reports FOX Sports’s Ken Rosenthal. Alvarez will receive $5.75 million in salary and can earn $1.5 million in performance bonuses, according to the New York Post’s Joel Sherman.
Alvarez has spent the first six seasons of his career with the Pirates. In his last year with Pittsburgh, Alvarez hit 27 home runs with 77 RBIs and a .318 on-base percentage in 150 games.

In his career, Alvarez is a .236 hitter with 131 home runs and 401 RBIs.
