Josh Donaldson hit the second career grand slam of his career to give the Blue Jays a 7–2 advantage over the Boston Red Sox on Friday night. The Red Sox would later rally, including a grand slam by Brock Holt, and go on to beat Toronto 8–7.
Donaldson's home run came in the bottom of the fourth inning off Joe Kelly.
He hit his first grand slam off Chris Sale and the Chicago White Sox on June 7, 2013.
The shot was the 106th of his career and his third of the 2016 season. He is coming off a season in which he won the American League MVP award and hit a career-high 41 home runs.

Donaldson was in the lineup as the Blue Jays designated hitter after being bothered by a strained right calf for the past week.
