Rockies shortstop Trevor Story now has seven home runs in six career games.
The rookie made history last week by becoming the first player to hit a home run in each of his three big-league games, and now owns the record for the most home runs by a player in his first six games.
His homer came off Padres reliever Brandon Maurer in the eighth, and gave Colorado a 5–3 lead. It traveled 425 feet.
The Rockies went on to beat San Diego 6–3 to avoid a series sweep.
