Giants third base coach Roberto Kelly was lifted from Sunday’s game after being struck in the head by a thrown ball between innings, and replaced by hitting coach Steve Decker.
Kelly was hit in the head on an errant throw as both teams got ready to begin the bottom of the seventh inning, and was escorted through the dugout tunnel by trainers.
What followed was a stoppage in play as manager Bruce Bochy informed home plate umpire Alfonso Marquez of the change.
Kelly was struck in the head by a ball once before; during batting practice at the 2012 NLDS.
