Despite reports, veteran outfielder Jonny Gomes is not retiring, according to Rob Bradford of WEEI.com.

After Gomes’s 13 seasons in the Major Leagues, SB Nation reported Wednesday that he would retire. He is not currently on a roster.

Gomes, 35, has played for the Rays, Reds, Nationals, Athletics, Red Sox, Braves and Royals. He won his first World Series ring with the 2013 Red Sox and added another with the Royals last fall.

Most recently, he played for the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan.

Royals fans may remember him best for his speech at the team's World Series celebration:

VERDUCCI: Are Astros' playoff hopes sunk?

Last season, Gomes hit .213 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs in 95 games for the Braves and Royals. He finishes his career with a .242 batting average, 162 home runs and 526 RBIs.
