Tigers rookie righthander Michael Fulmer had a no-hitter through 6 2/3 innings against the Angels, before it was broken up on a single by C.J. Cron.
Fulmer, 23, had issued just one walk, to Kole Calhoun, with six strikeouts through the first six frames.
The rookie entered the night with a 4–1 record in his first six starts, striking out 36 batters in 34 innings. The last rookie to throw a no-hitter was San Francisco’s Chris Heston last season.
