Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth has a message for his critics.

The 37-year-old was subject of much skepticism entering this year, with his advanced age and declining play not deemed worthy for someone scheduled to make $21 million this season. But Werth has played well for the Nationals recently, hitting a walk-off single in the 12th tonight after a big ninth inning earlier this week.

When asked what he had to say to his critics, Werth kept it simple.

“Those people can kiss my ass!” Werth said after Wednesday’s game.
