MLB announced the rosters for the 2016 All-Star Game on Tuesday night.
The Chicago Cubs led the way with five players selected as starters, followed by the Boston Red Sox with four. (The teams had seven and six players, respectively, selected in total.) Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez was the lead vote-getter overall, while Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo was tops among NL players.
The game’s starters were voted in by the fans, while the reserves are chosen by a combination of player voting and managerial selection.
This year’s game will be played on July 12 at 8 p.m. ET at Petco Park in San Diego.
