Texas Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder could miss the rest of the season due to a herniated disc in his neck, according to TR Sullivan of MLB.com.
Fielder will undergo further testing and should know more about his status on Friday. He underwent an MRI on Tuesday. He previously underwent neck surgery on May 27, 2014 and missed the rest of that season.
In 89 games, Fielder is hitting .212 with eight home runs and 44 RBIs.

The Rangers placed Fielder on the disabled list and are expected to use Jurickson Profar at first place. Shin-Soo Choo was also placed on the disabled list after suffering from lower back stiffness.
Prospects Daniel DeShields Jr. and Hanser Alberto were called up from Triple-A Round Rock.
