Rockies shortstop Trevor Story left Saturday’s game against the Mets with what the team is calling a jammed thumb. X-rays were negative.

In the top of the fourth inning, Story’s thumb got caught on second base as he dove in head first on a slide. He was tagged out after immediately lifting his hand off the bag in a bit of pain, and looked at in the dugout. He would take the field for the bottom half of the inning, but was removed after diving for a ball hit in the hole.

The 23-year-old rookie leads the National League with 27 home runs, and is hitting .272 with 72 RBIs on the season.
