Giancarlo Stanton often hits long home runs. The air at Coors Field often makes long home runs...longer.

The two became a beautiful pairing on Saturday night in Denver as the Marlins slugger punished a baseball 504 feet, according to Statcast. Apologies to Rockies pitcher Chad Bettis.

The home run was a big deal for a few reasons, other than the fact it was majestic. It is the longest homer of the 2016 season. It is the first 500-plus foot homer ever tracked by Statcast. It’s the longest in Coors Field history.

It gave the Marlins a 3–2 lead in the fifth, but that’s not as important.

Watch it here.

It’s still shorter than Mickey Mantle’s unofficial record. Does that make this the official record?
