Red Sox no-hit bid vs. Orioles broken up in seventh

The Boston Red Sox had their no-hit bid against the Orioles broken up in the seventh.

The Boston Red Sox had a combined no-hitter through six innings against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday before it unraveled in the seventh. 

Eduardo Rodriguez started the game for Boston, throwing four no-hit innings before leaving with tightness in his left hamstring. Matt Barnes relieved Rodriguez, throwing two no-hit innings himself.

The third batter in the bottom half of the seventh, Steve Pearce ended the no-hit bid with an infield single. He and Mark Trumbo would score on a Matt Wieters single two batters later.

Rodriguez struck out seven and walked two before exiting the game. He entered the game with a 2–5 record.

The Orioles entered Tuesday one game ahead of Boston for first place in the AL East.
