Identities of other two men killed in Jose Fernandez boat crash released
The identities of the two men killed along with Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez in a boat crash on early Sunday morning were released on Monday.
The identities of the two men killed along with Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez in a boat crash on early Sunday morning were released on Monday by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Emilio Macias, 27, and Eduardo Rivero, 25, residents of Miami, were found dead at the scene of the crash. They were both close friends with Fernandez, and both were on the 32-foot fishing boat at the time is struck a jetty at full speed.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families during this time,” FWC regional commander Maj. Alfredo Escanio said in a statement.
Investigators were able to determine that Fernandez was the owner of the boat, though it’s still not clear who was operating it.
