Diamondbacks fire manager Chip Hale, GM Dave Stewart
The Arizona Diamondbacks have fired manager Chip Hale and general manager Dave Stewart.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have fired manager Chip Hale and general manager Dave Stewart, the club announced on Monday.
Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republicfirst reported the news.
Hale, hired as a first-time manager in 2015, led Arizona to a 148–176 record in his two seasons with the team. After finishing just four games under .500 last season, the Diamondbacks slipped to 69–93 this season.
Stewart was brought in at the end of the 2014 season, and hired Hale.
Arizona has not been to the postseason since losing in the 2011 NLDS.
