Nationals, Bryce Harper agree to contract for 2018
The Nationals have extended Bryce Harper through 2018.
The Washington Nationals have agreed to terms on a deal with Bryce Harper for the 2018 season, which is the last year of his deal before possibly testing free agency.
Harper will get $21.65 million for 2018, according to Jon Heyman of Fan Rag Sports. This marks a record for an arbitration eligible player. He can make an extra $1 million, if he is named MVP.
Harper is expected to earn $13.63 million for 2017.
Harper won the 2015 MVP award and is a four-time All-Star since joining the Nationals in 2012.
