The majors’ shortest pitcher—and the shortest to make multiple starts in a season since 2000—has challenged beliefs about what a hurler of such modest stature can accomplish. Stroman is in the midst of a breakout season, ranking among the league’s top five in ERA (3.00), innings (153) and WAR (4.9), and he could become the first 5'8" pitcher with back-to-back 200-inning seasons since Fred Norman in 1972 and '73.
