Former Yankees catcher Jorge Posada will be reunited with Derek Jeter in 2019, but not in pinstripes. Posada is expected to join the Marlins organization as a "special advisor to Baseball Operations," according to Sirius XM's Craig Mish. Jeter is Miami's CEO and part owner.

Posada and Jeter made up half of New York's "core four" through the 1990's and 2000's. The pair played together for 16 seasons from 1996-2011 and won five World Series and seven American League titles. Posada is a five-time All-Star with 275 career homers.
Jeter is one of the most decorated Yankees of all-time. He tallied 14 All-Star appearances with New York, finishing in the top-ten of AL MVP voting eight times.
New York's legendary shortstop headlined an ownership group that bought the Marlins in 2017. Miami finished last in the NL East in 2018 at 63–98. The franchise last reached the postseason in 2003.
