Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper says he has no regrets or hard feelings about leaving the Washington Nationals after seven seasons for a record-setting 13-year, $330 million contract, according to Jayson Stark of The Athletic.

The Nationals are preparing for their first World Series in franchise history while Harper and the Phillies process a season that ended with an 81–81 record for fourth place in the National League East. The Nationals eliminated the Phillies from playoff contention on Sept. 24. Fans at Nationals Park booed Harper before each at-bat.

“They made their decision, and I made my decision as well,” Harper said. "I made the best decision for my family. And I am so happy to be in Philly. It’s the place that I wanted to be.”

"I made my decision, and that was my decision," Harper added. "And it was the final decision that I made. You know, jealousy isn’t good. For me, it’s about having the gratitude to go out and do what I do each day and not having an attitude towards anybody else."

Harper finished his first season in Philadelphia hitting .260 with 35 home runs and 114 RBIs.

The Nationals are waiting to find out whether they will play the New York Yankees or Houston Astros when the World Series begins on Tuesday. The Astros currently lead the American League Championship Series 3–1.
