The Rays are off to a red-hot start to the 2023 MLB season, having cruised out to a perfect 6–0 record. It’s been smooth sailing for Tampa thus far, as the Rays have won each of their games by a margin of no less than four runs.

According to MLB.com, the Rays’ six consecutive wins by four or more runs are the most by any team during its first six games in the modern era, dating all the way back to 1884.

The current AL East leaders are off to the best start in MLB in over 139 years, following their 7–2 defeat of the Nationals on Wednesday.

Thus far into the season, the Rays lead the majors with 44 runs scored. The club is tied with the Dodgers for the second best defensive record, having surrendered 13 runs. Only the Twins (11 runs allowed) have fared better in that regard. The Rays’ +31 run differential is also the best in MLB and the team has belted 13 home runs in its first six games, as the offense appears to be in mid-season form right out the gate.

After their hot start, Tampa is the only undefeated team remaining across the entire league. They’re set to host the A’s on Friday in what will be their third series of the season after opening the campaign at home against the Tigers in a three-game set.
