Giants Announcer Serves the Best Fantasy Football Punishment During Game vs. Rays
There are punishments for finishing last in a fantasy football league. And then there is the justice the Giants meted out to play-by-play announcer Dave Flemming on Monday.
During San Francisco's series opener against Tampa Bay, Flemming was made to serve for three innings in one of baseball's most difficult roles: that of the home team's bat boy.
"Hey, there's our bat boy. You know who that is? That's Dave Flemming," play-by-play announcer Duane Kuiper said. "Having the time of his life."
"Looks like he's having fun," color commentator Mike Krukow added.
The duo watched Flemming dutifully run out of the dugout to retrieve a loose ball.
"He's not gonna get a lot of rest," Krakow said. "What, did he lose a bet or something?"
"You finish last in fantasy football, you gotta be a bat boy," Kuiper explained.
Compared to past disputes involving the Giants and fantasy football, Flemming's punishment seems like a pretty minor affair.
