The No. 2 pick in the 2023 MLB draft, former LSU outfielder Dylan Crews, was elevated to Double A by the Nationals on Sunday, per MLB.com’s Jessica Camareto.

The 21-year-old will play for the Harrisburg Senators, whose next series begins on Tuesday. Crews is skipping the High A level after playing in just 14 Low A games and just one rookie-level game this summer.

In his lone appearance in the Florida Complex League, Crews went 3-for-3 and scored three runs on Aug. 3. He then recorded 22 hits, 16 runs, five home runs, 24 RBI and a 1.068 OPS in two weeks.

These performances all come after Crews helped LSU to a national title in the College World Series in June. In the Tigers’ final game of the tournament against Florida, Crews registered four hits, three runs and one RBI.

Crews also won the 2023 Golden Spikes Award, which goes to the best amateur baseball player in the country.
