Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon has been sidelined for much of the 2023 season and the team hasn’t provided a clear update on his recovery. Rendon has left reporters in the dark when it comes to the shin issue that landed him on the 60-day IL.

Rendon was asked by reporters for an update on his injury, and he once again evaded the question and refused to give a proper answer, something he’s consistently done throughout the year.

“No habla inglés today,” said Rendon in a grammatically incorrect combination of Spanish and English, via Sam Blum of The Athletic, who reported that Rendon then put on a hoodie and departed Anaheim’s clubhouse.

Rendon has featured in 43 games this year and has not made an appearance since July 4.

He’s yet to play in more than 60 games for the Angels in a single season, having made exactly 200 appearances for the franchise since joining four years ago.

Anaheim stopped making head athletic trainer Mike Frostad available to the media this season.

In what’s been a difficult season for the Angels and their fans, and the ongoing confusing situation involving their star third baseman certainly hasn’t helped.
