The Yankees and Padres have reportedly been closing in on a blockbuster trade centered around Juan Soto for the last day or so.

As of 7 p.m. ET Wednesday night, the teams had not officially agreed to a deal.

The trade includes San Diego sending Soto and Trent Grisham to New York in exchange for Michael King, Drew Thorpe, Jhony Brito, Randy Vasquez and Kyle Higasioka, MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reported Wednesday.

“We still do believe there is still a chance that it happens tonight,” Morosi stated Wednesday on MLB Network.

The trade is delayed because the Padres are reviewing medicals and information, MLB’s Bryan Hoch reported. While report after report stated that the deal is close to done, the transaction had still not been made official as of Wednesday evening.

Given the stakes of a deal that would send Soto to the Yankees, MLB fans started to grow weary of waiting for the news, and dropped their reactions on social media:
